5 Reasons Why Permission to Wonder is Everything in Spiritual Spaces

Written by: Bryan Willkom

1. Wonder builds the muscles of curiosity and humility… It slows us down and creates space to say, “I don’t know yet” OR “I could be wrong”.

2. Wonder interrupts algorithms. In divided times, people are trained to react, label, and defend. Wonder does something different—it asks, “How did you come to believe that?” This shift doesn’t mean agreement, but it opens the door to understanding and healing.

3. Wonder allows people to be in process. More people today are deconstructing, reconstructing, or reimagining their spiritual lives. Wonder makes space for evolving identities and beliefs.

4. Wonder softens us. Your soul can breathe when you don’t have to perform… when you’re allowed to ask questions, change your mind or doubt without pressure to land on the “right” answer. The outcome? You’re kinder to yourself and your neighbors.

5. Wonder keeps us human. It helps us see people as people again (worthy of love)—not just opinions, profiles or problems to fix.

Could WONDER be the thing our world needs most right now?
